Agreement Overview
Welcome to CannBus. These Terms of Service ("Terms," "Agreement") govern your access to and use of the website located at https://cannbus.org, together with all associated services, features, content, tools, and functionality offered by CannBus.org ("CannBus," "we," "us," or "our").
These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and members of the CannBus platform, including businesses that create profiles, subscribe to membership plans, access our publications, or use any feature of the platform in any capacity (collectively, "you" or "User").
By using CannBus, you also agree to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Additional policies, guidelines, or agreements that apply to specific services (such as membership-level agreements or publication licensing terms) will be presented to you at the point of use and also form part of this Agreement when accepted.
CannBus serves businesses operating in the cannabis industry. Cannabis remains a Schedule I controlled substance under United States federal law. By using CannBus, you represent that your use of our platform complies with all applicable local, state, provincial, and national laws in the jurisdictions where you operate. CannBus does not provide legal advice and is not responsible for your compliance with cannabis regulations.

The specific terms applicable to your membership tier — including feature access, usage limits, and pricing — are set out on our membership plans page and in any order confirmation you receive. Paid membership terms are also governed by Section 8 (Fees & Payments) of these Terms.
Business Profiles, Listings & Product Catalogs
Content Ownership & Responsibility
You retain ownership of the content you submit to your CannBus business profile, product catalog, and any other user-generated content areas ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant CannBus a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, distribute, and promote Your Content in connection with operating and marketing the platform.
Your Content Obligations
You represent and warrant that all content you submit is:
- Accurate, truthful, and not misleading to other members or visitors
- Yours to submit — you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions
- In compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including cannabis advertising and marketing restrictions in your jurisdiction
- Not defamatory, fraudulent, obscene, or in violation of any third party's intellectual property or privacy rights
Profile Visibility
Depending on your membership tier and account settings, your business profile and catalog may be visible to: (a) other verified CannBus members, (b) the general public visiting cannbus.org, and/or (c) third-party search engines that index our platform. You are responsible for reviewing and managing your visibility settings. Do not publish sensitive personal, financial, or confidential business information in publicly accessible sections of your profile.
CannBus Content Moderation Rights
CannBus reserves the right — but has no obligation — to review, edit, remove, or refuse to display any content that, in our sole judgment, violates these Terms, applicable law, or the integrity of the platform. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you if we take action against your content.
License Accuracy
If your business profile indicates that you hold specific cannabis licenses (cultivator, processor, distributor, etc.), you represent that such licenses are current and valid. It is your obligation to update your profile if your licensing status changes. Misrepresenting licensing status is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination and referral to the relevant regulatory authority.
Acceptable Use Policy
The following outlines what is and is not permitted on the CannBus platform. Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy are grounds for immediate suspension or termination.
✓ Permitted Uses
- Creating and maintaining an accurate business profile for a licensed cannabis business
- Building and publishing a legitimate wholesale product catalog
- Connecting and communicating with other members for legitimate B2B purposes
- Accessing cannabis law summaries and market publications for research and business planning
- Using lead generation tools to identify potential wholesale partners
- Subscribing to newsletters and regulatory update services
✕ Prohibited Uses
- Selling cannabis directly to consumers through the platform (retail transactions)
- Creating false, misleading, or impersonated business profiles
- Harvesting or scraping member data or contact information for bulk outreach
- Uploading malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Using the platform to violate any applicable cannabis or other law
- Spamming other members or circumventing platform messaging limits
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
- Misrepresenting license status or regulatory compliance
CannBus reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether any use constitutes a violation of this Acceptable Use Policy. Decisions regarding violations are final.
CannBus is strictly a B2B platform. The platform must not be used to market, advertise, or sell cannabis products directly to individual consumers. Any attempt to conduct retail cannabis sales through CannBus will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to relevant regulatory authorities.
Intellectual Property Rights
CannBus Intellectual Property
The CannBus platform, including its design, layout, graphics, logos, software code, databases, market reports, law summaries, compiled data sets, and all other proprietary content (collectively, "CannBus IP"), is owned by CannBus.org and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws including copyright, trademark, and trade secret law.
Subject to these Terms, CannBus grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the platform and its content solely for your legitimate internal business purposes as a CannBus member. This license does not include the right to:
- Reproduce, republish, or redistribute CannBus publications, market reports, or law summaries without explicit written permission

- Use CannBus's name, logo, or branding in any manner without prior written approval
Your Content — License Back to CannBus
As described in Section 5, you retain ownership of Your Content but grant CannBus a license to use it for platform operation and marketing. This license survives the termination of your account to the extent necessary to allow us to maintain backup records and comply with legal obligations, but we will remove your publicly displayed profile upon account closure (subject to our data retention policy).
Copyright Infringement — DMCA
CannBus respects intellectual property rights. If you believe that content on our platform infringes your copyright, please submit a DMCA takedown notice to support@cannbus.org with the subject line "DMCA Notice," including: (a) identification of the copyrighted work, (b) identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location on our platform, (c) your contact information, (d) a statement of good-faith belief, and (e) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information provided is accurate.

Current pricing for paid tiers is displayed on our membership plans page and is subject to change with reasonable notice.

By providing payment information, you authorize CannBus to charge the applicable fees to your payment method on the schedule described above. You represent that you have the right to authorize charges to the payment method provided.
Refund Policy
All paid memberships and publication purchases are generally non-refundable. However, we may issue refunds at our discretion in the following limited circumstances:
- A documented technical error on our part prevented you from accessing a paid feature for a significant portion of your billing period
- You cancel an annual membership within 7 calendar days of the initial signup date and have not materially used paid features (new member courtesy refund, first-time subscribers only)
Refund requests must be submitted to support@cannbus.org within 14 days of the charge. CannBus's decision on refund requests is final.
Price Changes
CannBus may change its pricing at any time. For existing paid subscribers, price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle after at least 30 days' advance written notice via email. Continued use of the platform after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
Taxes
You are responsible for all applicable taxes, duties, and government levies associated with your use of our paid services. Prices displayed may not include applicable sales, use, or value-added taxes, which will be added at checkout where required by law.
Publications, Legal Summaries & Market Reports
A significant component of the CannBus platform is the publication of cannabis law summaries, regulatory overviews, market reports, trend analyses, and other informational materials (collectively, "Publications").
All cannabis law summaries, regulatory updates, and legal information published by CannBus are provided for general informational purposes only. They do not constitute legal advice, are not prepared by licensed attorneys, and do not create an attorney-client relationship. Cannabis laws change frequently and vary significantly by jurisdiction. Always consult a qualified, licensed attorney for legal advice specific to your business situation.
Accuracy Disclaimer
While CannBus makes reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy and currency of its Publications, we make no representation or warranty — express or implied — that any Publication is accurate, complete, current, or applicable to any specific situation. We explicitly disclaim liability for any errors, omissions, or outdated information in our Publications.
Market Reports — Not Investment Advice
Market reports and financial trend analyses published by CannBus are for general industry research purposes only. They do not constitute financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. CannBus is not a licensed financial advisor, broker, or dealer. Do not make investment or significant financial decisions based solely on our market reports.
Publication Licensing
Reports and publications accessed through a paid subscription or one-time purchase are licensed to you for your internal business use only. You may not resell, redistribute, republish, or share paid publications with individuals or entities outside your organization without CannBus's prior written consent.
Third-Party Services & Links
The CannBus platform may contain links to third-party websites, government regulatory portals, licensing databases, legal resources, news sources, and other external services. Our law summaries and publications routinely reference official government sources and regulatory agency websites.
- Third-party websites are governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies, which are entirely independent of CannBus
- CannBus does not endorse, control, or take responsibility for the content, accuracy, legality, or practices of any third-party website or service
- Your interactions with third-party services — including any data you provide — are solely between you and that third party
- If you integrate third-party software or APIs with your CannBus account, such integrations are governed by the third party's terms, and CannBus is not responsible for third-party integration performance or data handling
We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party service you access through or in connection with CannBus before engaging with that service.
Disclaimers of Warranties
THE CANNBUS PLATFORM, ITS CONTENT, AND ALL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CannBus expressly disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to:
- Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties of non-infringement of third-party rights
- Warranties of accuracy, completeness, or currency of any content, publication, law summary, or market report
- Warranties that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times
- Warranties regarding results of using our lead generation or business directory tools (we cannot guarantee you will generate specific business leads or revenue)
- Warranties regarding the licensing status or legitimacy of other businesses listed on the platform (members self-certify their compliance; verify independently)
CannBus provides tools for B2B discovery and connection but cannot guarantee the legitimacy, licensing status, financial stability, or reliability of any business listed on the platform. Always conduct your own due diligence — including independent license verification with the appropriate regulatory authority — before entering into any business arrangement with another member.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CANNBUS.ORG, ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, business opportunity, data, or goodwill
- Business interruption or lost business relationships arising from use of or inability to use the platform
- Damages arising from reliance on any content, publication, law summary, or market report published on the platform
- Damages arising from unauthorized access to your account as a result of your failure to maintain security
- Damages arising from transactions, agreements, or disputes between you and other members or third parties identified through CannBus
- Damages arising from regulatory action, licensing consequences, or legal liability related to your cannabis business operations
WHETHER OR NOT CANNBUS HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, AND REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE).
Aggregate Liability Cap: In all cases, CannBus's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or related to these Terms or the Services, regardless of the form of action, shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total fees paid by you to CannBus in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (US$100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CannBus.org and its owners, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any and all claims, damages, judgments, awards, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your use of the CannBus platform, Services, or Publications
- Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law or regulation
- Any content you submit, post, or transmit through the platform, including your business profile and product catalog
- Any misrepresentation of your business's licensing status, regulatory compliance, or other credentials
- Any dispute or transaction between you and another CannBus member or third party
- Any infringement by you of any intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity
CannBus reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with CannBus's defense of that claim. You may not settle any such claim without CannBus's prior written consent.
Termination & Suspension
Termination by You
You may terminate your CannBus account at any time by contacting us at support@cannbus.org or using the account closure option in your account settings. Termination of a paid membership does not entitle you to a refund for any unused portion of a current billing period, except as described in Section 8. Following account closure, your public profile will be removed, though we retain certain data as required by our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Termination or Suspension by CannBus
CannBus may suspend or permanently terminate your account, with or without notice, for any of the following reasons:
- Violation of any provision of these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
- Misrepresentation of licensing status, business credentials, or compliance information
- Failure to pay applicable membership fees when due
- Engagement in activity that is fraudulent, illegal, or harmful to CannBus, other members, or third parties
- Receipt of a lawful order from a regulatory authority, court, or law enforcement agency requiring account action
- Extended periods of account inactivity (we will provide prior notice for inactivity-based closure)
- Our decision to discontinue the platform or a material part of our Services
Effects of Termination
Upon termination — by either party and for any reason — your right to access and use the CannBus platform immediately ceases. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 11, 12, 13, 15, and 17) will remain in full force and effect.
Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
Informal Resolution First
We believe most disputes can be resolved through direct communication. Before initiating any formal legal proceeding, you agree to contact us at support@cannbus.org and describe your concern. We will make a genuine effort to resolve the issue within 30 calendar days of receiving your notice.
Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute arising from your use of CannBus shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of [State], United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. [Note: Update with the state of your registered business entity before publishing.]
Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the CannBus platform shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by a recognized arbitration body (such as the American Arbitration Association) under its then-current rules. The arbitration shall take place in [City, State] or via video conference, and the arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding on both parties.
By accepting these Terms, you waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against CannBus. All disputes must be brought in your individual capacity only.
Exceptions to Arbitration
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek emergency injunctive or other equitable relief from a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration, particularly in cases involving intellectual property infringement or unauthorized use of the platform.
Changes to These Terms
The cannabis industry, its legal landscape, and the CannBus platform are constantly evolving. We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our Services, changes in law or regulation, or changes in our business practices.
How We Notify You
- For material changes (those that significantly affect your rights or obligations): We will provide at least 30 days' advance notice via email to your registered address and/or a prominent notice on the platform before the changes take effect
- For minor changes (clarifications, corrections, non-material updates): We will update the "Last Updated" date on this page. We encourage you to review the Terms periodically
Continued Use = Acceptance
Your continued use of CannBus after any revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the platform and may close your account as described in Section 14.
